Steve Aird, Director of Volleyball Operations at Penn State helps Hurricanes 16U Black Girls Fundraise for Nationals in Calgary, with Elite Clinic March 8 & 9
The Hurricanes 16U Black girls are thrilled to bring Steve Aird, a native of London, Ontario back to Canada to assist them with their fundraising efforts for Nationals. Steve has an impressive playing and coaching pedigree (see www.haltonvolleyball.com) and he will be coming to Burlington this March to hold a clinic for coaches with some of Ontario’s top athletes. Steve is a seasoned clinician and has presented over 1000 clinics including, multiple appearances at the AVCA Convention (American Volleyball Coaches Association).
Steve creates “an informal, relaxed environment where coaches can ask questions as the kids train, players can communicate with coaches , coaches can coach and kids can learn.” Steve plans to take coaches through how Penn State scouts, prepares for a match and executes using video footage. He wants to leave coaches with the ability to “expose weaknesses of opponents and how to flat out be 3-5 points better a game.”
Training on Friday will focus the younger 13-15U athletes' core skills and team play. Saturday will focus on the 16Us and their team skills, systems, and more situation based and decision making scenarios. Players and coaches will learn Steve’s techniques for eye work, reading plays and good teammate skills in addition to core skills.
This is a rare opportunity for Ontario coaches to connect with Steve.
